WHAT’S NEW ON THE OUTSIDE?
Platinum is now the summit of the Everest range as the top-of-the-line specification. Platinum is exclusively powered by the new 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel, backed with a 10-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive. Platinum features a premium high-tech dash and flagship interior, with 21-inch wheels finished in a special tri-coat paint with machined accents. Platinum’s unique grille design with hot foil accented mesh and silk chrome accents creates a sophisticated look and premium feel. The luxury interior features heated and vented premium leather accented front seats with 10-way power adjustment and memory function for the driver. These seats are finished with quilted inserts and signature Platinum badging. A panoramic roof adds to the spacious feel of the interior.
Everest’s 50mm wider track and longer wheelbase enabled designers to create a more progressive, muscular appearance. Ford’s global design DNA is reflected in the C-clamp head lamps and strong horizontal upper grille bar. It all contributes to create a strong and modern look that communicates Next-Gen Everest’s capability.
MATRIX LED HEADLAMPS
Offered exclusively on Platinum, Matrix LED headlamps with C-clamp LED daytime running lights push lighting performance to new levels, featuring dynamic bending, glare-free high beam and auto dynamic levelling to deliver safer lighting for Everest drivers as well as oncoming traffic.
While the new 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel heads the line-up, Next-Gen Everest also features Ford’s proven 2.0L BiTurbo diesel engine. Ford’s efficient 10-speed automatic transmission will be standard across the range.
Underbody protection provides shielding for vulnerable components like the steering system, engine sump and transfer case. This protection is mounted directly to the chassis for enhanced structural integrity while the recessed mounting bolts are protected and easy to remove for vehicle servicing.
The new integrated roof rails – or Platinum-specific stand-off roof rails – are more than just a design detail; they’re engineered for adventure. The Everest rooftop can now support static loads of up to 350kg2 and dynamic loads of up to 100kg2, providing increased versatility that enables Everest to carry bikes, canoes, cargo pod or roof-top tent.
Keep going even after the sun sets with zone lighting that allows you to control all or individual exterior lights (zones), either through the SYNC® 4A3 screen or from the FordPass™ app4 on your smartphone. Zone Lighting is standard on Platinum, and optional at additional cost on Trend 4x4 and Sport. Not available on Ambiente.
OFF-ROADING WITH EASE
All 4x4 Next-Gen Everest variants feature an advanced, permanent four-wheel drive system that uses an electronically controlled on-demand two-speed electromechanical transfer case (EMTC) with selectable drive modes5.
ENHANCED TOWING EXPERIENCE
Next-Gen Everest features a maximum braked towing capacity of 3500kg6 when fitted with an optional factory Tow Pack, which now includes an integrated trailer brake controller7. All series receive a trailer light check function and trailer connection checklist, as a well as a new Tow/Haul drive mode to improve gearshift response when towing.
PARK WITH EASE
Platinum is equipped with Active Park Assist 2.08. This can assist the Next-Gen Everest driver to fit safely in tight spaces at the press of a button. The system takes care of the steering, shifting, acceleration and braking to navigate into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces with ease. It will also drive itself out of a parallel parking spot when prompted.
WHAT’S NEW ON THE INSIDE?
Everest’s new interior boasts a sense of spaciousness amplified by the full-width coast-to-coast instrument panel and centre console with integrated wireless charging9, cupholders, new e-Shifter (on all 4x4 variants) and electric parking brake. Heated and ventilated front seats are standard on Sport and Platinum, and optional on Trend, with 10-way power adjustment and memory function for the driver. Platinum also receives heated second row seats and a heated steering wheel.
DIGITAL INSTRUMENT PANEL
Stay informed on and off the road with a large 8-inch (Ambiente, Trend and Sport) or 12.4-inch (Platinum) digital instrument panel. Offering a number of view types, the digital instrument panel responds to the selected drive mode, displaying useful vehicle information, as well as turn-by-turn navigation.
E-SHIFTER & ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE
The new e-Shifter (on all 4x4 variants) and electric park brake (on all variants) allows for improved centre-console storage, wireless smartphone charging9, and a greater sense of space in the front of the cabin.
FULLY DIGITAL CABIN
Everest offers a fully digital cabin, with high-resolution 10.1-inch (Ambiente) or 12-inch (Trend, Sport, Platinum) portrait-oriented centre touchscreen. Boasting Ford’s new-generation SYNC® 4A3 connectivity and entertainment system, Next-Gen Everest offers both Apple and Android wireless smartphone connectivity. Additionally, there’s an embedded modem, allowing customers to connect to Everest when linked with the FordPass™ App. FordPass4 enhances the ownership experience with features like remote start, vehicle status check and remote lock and unlock functions via your compatible mobile device.
A dedicated screen for all off-road features is standard on Trend 4x4, Sport 4x4 and Platinum 4x4 variants. With predictive overlay guidelines, driveline and diff lock indication, steering angle and vehicle pitch to complement the expert and inform the enthusiast. This is further enhanced by the addition of a 360-degree camera8,10, which with a front camera view provides additional visibility.
Helping Next-Gen Everest handle anything from smooth roads to mud and ruts and everything in between are up to six selectable drive modes8: Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul and Slippery are intended for on-road use (all models), while Mud/Ruts and Sand modes are available on Trend 4x4, Sport 4x4 and Platinum 4x4 variants, and are intended for off-road use.
There’s more elbow, leg and shoulder room for those in the front and the back, while accessing the third-row seats is now easier thanks to second-row seats that slide further forward than before. And for Platinum which gets a panoramic roof, improved packaging means there’s more headroom than before.
